In Love With Everything Blue

Here’s what I wore on my Doctor’s visit…

If you’re a reader of my blog (then you’re probably a friend of mine), you would know I’m such a sickly person! In tagalog, sakitin! (Not sure if sickly is even a valid word!) But lately, I’m doing all measures to take care of my body and a doctor’s appointment is almost a weekly thing for me.

So for my “about-to-visit-the-doctor” look, I decided to wear a spaghetti strap top with ruffles, white shorts and a short cardigan.

Usually doctors try to listen to your heartbeat and your lungs so the top is perfect. I just have to remove the cardigan and my doctor could freely listen to whatever it is they want to hear from the insides of my body. And since I’m scheduled for and x-ray then, I made sure that the top I’m wearing doesn’t have metals on them so I don’t need to remove it. I also made sure to drop the necklace and just went for my colorful beaded bracelets. Nothing more. Then I put on my comfiest pair of flats and my lovely bag and I’m all set! Sinong mag-aakalang sakitin ako? Wala!

By the way, this is the cheapest look I ever pulled off. Except for the bag, all of the things I’m wearing here are from Bazaars and the streets of Paco.

Review: ÜnOfficially Yours

I am such a John Lloyd fan. I find him adorable. And all his movies are uberly romantic.

And for the past weeks, the Twitterverse has been buzzing on the latest JL film. I’ve seen the trailer on uTube and I am very much excited to actually see the film. I know it’s just a Pinoy version of Friends with Benefits and No Strings Attached but whatever!

Anyway, me and G.p and my sister and my cousins went to the cinema to watch the latest chick flick! All girls… and it was fun!

The movie as usual is hilarious! JL’s comic stint is very much cute. I know he’s not the hunk type. So every time he’d show off some skin, we all end up laughing on his baby fats but we’re all also very much attracted to him. If you know what I mean. Add Panying, K Brosas and Tetchie Agbayani on the group and it was indeed one hell of fun! :-)

The story line is very much different on the usual love stories that we’d see on Pinoy movies. I even saw a friend post on his twitter TT “na culture shock ako sa Unofficially Yours!”. Which indeed is true. Since that friend of mine is a certified conservative. I know it is very much like Friends with Benefits in all aspects but it’s still very much original for a Pinoy film. I am very glad that they indeed made something like this. I mean, casual relationships are sooo common nowadays but loads of people refuse to discuss it. This movie shows that we Filipino’s, as much as we’d like to deny it, are indeed so different now. We are becoming more accepting on the norms of life. We are becoming more open minded. We are now fierce. We are different but our morals are still very much intact.

I love Pinoy films, specially those that try to defy the norms of life. It was such a fierce move and I loved the execution very much.

I find Angel extra gorgeous in this film. And JL as usual is adorable and cute. JL’s eyes never fail to melt me and he did exactly that in this film.

This movie is worth every penny. If not for Angel and JL’s wild “sex scenes”, at least for the extraordinary love story of Cess and Macky!

Happy Puso everyone! Hindi pa tapos ang Love month so pwede pa ko humabol! :-P

P.S.: I know my review is sooo not a review. I am not a film expert. I am just a simple girl who loves to watch movie. All of these are just my opinions.

Valentine Sweetheart

Here’s what I wore for Valentine.

I don’t have a Valentine date but I met up with G.p and went to work extra early. Everyone thought I actually have a date of some sorts and the reason I was extra early is because I want to get off work early. Oh well! Sorry to disappoint but it’s all because of G.p and her uber early work schedule. :-)

For Valentine, I decided to wear something sweet, something uberly feminine, something fun and colorful. I guess I achieved my peg.

I just have to mention how much I love my top! Cut outs make you really sexy without showing too much skin. :-) It’s also very much effective in hiding one’s big arms. Nyay!

Welcome! Rachel Berry (my Blackberry Curve 3G 9300 review)

If you’re a reader of my blog, you would probably know that I am an Android lover! Been using Android for like 2 years now and I am very much used to it. I love the flexibility of the system. Plus most Androids are not that expensive and most handsets are over the top in terms of quality.

I previously got a Samsung Galaxy Spica android phone which I uberly love. But I got tired of the full touch phone. I don’t know. I find it more difficult to use as time went by. Though a full screen is really such an eye candy.

And then, my Andie Cha Cha came. This is the phone I love the best! And my love for her won’t falter. But I guess, just like all the great things in life, one day you must let the go. #emo!

I am now a proud owner of a Blackberry Curve 3G 9300 which I got from Sun for free. Been with Sun for 27months to be exact and one day they told me I am already eligible for their Blackberry plan promo.

You might ask me why I did the big switch. The answer is quite simple… Because I want to save money.

I am in Sun and been paying them around Php700 per month for my Call and Text needs plus my Mama’s. Then I got Smart (HTC ChaCha) for all my internet needs. I am not a real fan of Smart I tell you. Refer here and here. I pay Php 1000 for just 100Mbps of internet. I am a twitter addict and Smart’s claim that 100Mbps is enough for your Social Networking needs is not true. So when Sun Cellular offered me their Php 999 Blackberry plan, they got me thinking. I mean, I’d get unlimited call and text to Sun plus unlimited mobile data for just 999. I’ll be saving lots of money per month right? And I’ll enjoy my mobile internet without worrying if I’ll max out my data limit. And my sister told me she’d be happy to continue my Smart subscription for me as long as I’ll give her Andie ChaCha. :’( And since she’s my sister anyway, I let go of my love. I also want my sister to save some money. She’s really planning on buying a phone anyway and I told her paying Php1000 per month is like buying a new phone on 12months 0% interest.

In all honesty, I am not a big fan of Blackberry. I think the graphics are lame and the over all look of the phone looks like those China phones you’d find in Quiapo. (All you Blackberry lovers, don’t get mad please!) And I used to associate Blackberry with work! No fun. All seriousness.

I remember being teased on my first day back at work holding my BB. Everyone was like, “where’s your chacha?”! And I am all teary eyed. My BB is not the touch and type phone. It’s just has this trackpad thing on the center.

I am already using BB for days and I really think it’s lame. I find it very difficult to use and not to mention I miss my Pinoy Henyo app on Andie.

And then I told myself, maybe I should give my BB a chance to prove to me her power. I mean, people won’t get addicted to them if they’re not that fun to use right? So I did a couple of research, tried a couple of things and voila! After almost 2 weeks of having her, she can’t leave my hands for a minute now.

Lesson learned: you’ve got to appreciate what you have! I got BB simply because I want to lessen my expenses but then, I got so much more!

Here’s why I love my BB, which I fondly call Rachel now:

1. BBM! Been reading lots of reviews and blogs about Blackberry phones and this application is always on top of everyone’s list of why they love the phone so much they got so addicted. At first I thought its just like so many IM apps there is. And I could easily install a YM and MSN messenger on my android. But BBM is just waaaayyy cooler! I have a cousin who’s currently working in Qatar and we’re like BBM’ing the whole time. She’d ask me to make her daughter listen to her voice messages. She’d send pictures. I’d send pictures. And it’s really fun. I guess it’d be more cool if I’d get more of my friends on my BBM contacts. Oh! Forgot to tell you that I am now BBM’ing my boss if I ever need something. Or if I need to let him know I’m coming to work late! \m/
2. Integrated emails with push! I have 3 main emails that I keep. My Yahoo! account, my Gmail and my work email. I know I can install Yahoo! on my android and my Gmail is automatically linked on my Android and I can configure my work mail to work with other phones but I swear! Rachel makes handling all 3 of them loads easier! And since its on push technology, I receive my emails in real time. And I can read them anywhere, delete them easier and now I can really organize my email in a click! It’s very easy and convenient! :-)
3. Instant Messaging Apps all available! All of my IM are also currently installed on my BB. And everything is working. So I am online 24/7! Wherever I am!
4. Twitter and Facebook made easier! Honestly! I don’t know what it is that BB has that makes Tweeting and Facebooking much more faster and easier. I currently have 2 Twitter apps that I’m using and I just can’t decide which to use. :-) I currently use them both. And I’m on unlimited data so I get updated all the time, real-time!
5. Easy Application Management! Unlike android, you can easily uninstall an app even if they are pre-installed on the device. So I just remove those apps that I don’t need and won’t use. It saves up on App Storage and space. And my phone is not at all clogged up with applications that I don’t need or use.
6. All messages and notifications in one folder! Just click on the Message app and all of your emails, SMS, FB notification, Twitter mentions, BBM and everything is shown there. But they also have a separate folder for each app. I find it very much useful specially when just browsing on the things I need to know. I just need to open one app and everything is there already. Cool right?
7. Call is very much clear! It has very high call quality. The call is clear and loudspeaker is loud. It is so far the best phone I got in terms of call quality.
8. Loads of keyboard shortcuts! I love that you can do things in a BB much faster because of all the available keyboard shortcuts they have. I love everything fast. Working in an IT company does you that. So I love love love the convenience that these shortcuts brought.
9. It’s from Sun Cellular! Alright. I just really need to mention this one. It’s because its true. I never had a problem with Sun Cellular. Or atleast on Sun Cellular Robinson’s Ermita branch (ehem! just in case anyone in Sun Cellular read this, give your Ermita team a pat on the back). I got my BB in an instant. They explained everything to me properly and no false claims. I just recently encountered some problems on my connection around Makati area but a couple of tweets and it’s resolved! See? That’s Customer Service. Now I only have 1 phone that I check always. For my messages, calls, tweets, mails and everything.

I know I’ll find more interesting things about my phone as I get the hang of it. I still miss Andie ChaCha from time to time but I guess, you could never find a perfect phone. A phone that has it all. :-) You just got to know what you need, not want ok? And then choose. Also, I suggest you maximize the power of your phone. I always see people holding those extremely Smart Phones and just use it for SMS and call. Oh please guys! It’s cool to discover what your phone can do and maximize it. :-)

Bluer than Blue

It’s something I wore back when I’m still very much addicted to the color blue. Actually, I still can’t get over my blue addiction that I still sometimes find myself wearing everything blue! :-)

For this one, I guess I just got a little lazy. That gray striped top I’m wearing is actually a fave of mine. I got it from Divisoria for only Php100 and it never fails to make me look slim. I don’t know but it just does! :-) But since the top is gray, I just add a pop of color by wearing a blue skirt and kept everything simple and nice by wearing silver accessories.

I love the fact that my peg is soooo girly. I look like a demure lady. I love subtlety of the entire look. Of course, you can never go wrong by wearing basics.

Review: The Vow

I’ve been very excited about this movie ever since I saw the trailer. Who wouldn’t?

I mean, it has everything that a girl would love: it’s a love story, it has amnesia somewhere on the story, some sweet dialogs and of course CHANNING TATUM! He would surely hunt me forever.

So finally, G.p and I watched it for our pre-Valentine date. (Note: We don’t have an actual Valentine Date.)

I’m so inspired specially knowing that it is based on an actual love story. That it is not just a product of someone’s wild imagination. That sometime ago, someone has actually experience those and was able to live a happy ever after.

There are scenes in the movie that made G.p and I cry a little. It was just that, you really could feel how much the guy loved his wife and you could feel his pain. Like a true blue emo and hopeless romantic, I was really affected by every scene.

I hear some didn’t much like it but I honestly do. The movie simply shows the story of two people. Their struggles and how they were able to win over it. It reminds us that no matter how much a mind tries to forget, the heart would surely remember.

We have loved once or twice or more and we all know know how great it is to fall in love. And sometimes, not all love story is as easy as 1-2-3. Most of the time, love is a war, a battlefield. You have to fight for it, you have to win it over, you have to gain it, to deserve it. That most of the time, you have to fight to keep what you have.

#Shopaholic: Butterflies and Colors on my Bag!

Lately some people, or better yet, someONE has been harassing me! Someone from an IP around Caloocan, Quezon City. However, that detail is not accurate since most are already on mobile net or wireless something (no more techie please!) So to you, thank you for making me a rich girl by surfing through my blog posts! And since you sound like someone who doesn’t have class nor breeding, I would like to give you my biggest smile. :-D Mwah! I love you!

Now on to my blog. I decided to show you guys my latest find. It’s a white canvass bag with butterfly details and sequins all over. The handle is made of bamboo which gave that extra ummhhpp!

I so love the bag because it can hold sooo much stuffs and it’s not too bulky. Plus it’s so fashionable and cute. :-) All my friends are going gaga over it.

The World is a Happy Place :)

My blog is a happy place. And I would like to share happiness to my readers by keeping the Good Vibes in my site.

Fashion for me is a passion. Some may not understand my version of it (hell! even my bestfriend calls me weird) but just like religion and the many aspects of life, fashion is subjective. What for me might work won’t work for others and vice versa. I have long accepted the fact that dressing up is an everyday battle field. Fighting for the people around you who’ll call you weird, fighting against yourself because definitely, you would like to be prettier than yesterday.

I am happy that I was able to improve the fashion sense of some of my friends thru my blog. I see them everyday and I see the change in them. I am glad that eventually I was able to unleash their inner fashionista and confidence. I am glad to prove to everyone that you don’t need to look like a doll to be called fashionable. You just need to be yourself and be comfortable in your own skin.

Anyway, that’s just me saying my piece. This ends here because as I’ve said, we are on a happy place!

Now to my fashion blog! Hahaha.. Last Saturday, my friends and I went to Star City then had an amazing dinner at Mongolian. My friends are really young at heart and loves to go around and play.

I opted to wear something comfy. Of course! I’d be walking and playing and eating the whole day. And since I know we’d have feast in the evening, I opted to wear a lose top so as to hide my tummy.

Since I really wanna be comfy that day, I paired my lose top with one of my comfiest pair of shorts. Not to mention they’re bright and cute. But I had one dilemma that day. Cellulites! I swear, I gained so much weight that my legs are starting to have cellulites and they make me a little bit conscious. I’m sure some of you also have the same problem. My solution? Wear a long cardigan!

Swear! They’re effective in hiding the cellulites and not to mention your arms as well. Thats exactly what I did here. :-P See? You don’t need to look like Barbie to dress up. And not because you gained some weight doesn’t mean you can forget about trying to look good. The key here is to know what to wear to hide those unwanted stuffs.

It’s Jeans Day!

Friday is jeans day for us in my office. Most of my officemates would go for the casual tee + jeans on a Friday and be safe. They’d put on some sneakers and they’re ready.

But of course not me! :-) Although most of the time I opted to tame down my outfits on Fridays, I still want to be fashionable. SIMPLE and FASHIONABLE is the key here.

Like my outfit below. That’s my lamest try on being simple. I put on some jeans, my tattered blue top, some low heeled wedges plus accessories. See? SIMPLE indeed.

Simple right? But notice the little details! My top shouts fashyown. Simply fashyown. The tattered details and the sequined design on the chest. Enough for me to opt out the necklace. That’s one thing to remember, if you’ve got details or designs on the front  of your shirt, do not put on your funky necklace! You don’t want your friends to get dizzy just by looking at you and the too many designs on your chest.

And since blue is a bit dark already, I opted to pop some color by wearing my uber cute yellow feather earrings. Again, a pop of color here and there wont hurt. Just don’t overdo it or you’ll end up like a clown.

I stayed on the metal themed accessories and another pop of color, this time a bit darker that the yellow one, a green bracelet. They are perfect for my simple peg.

I decided to bring my bright yellow bag and complete the outfit with my black wedge pumps – low-heeled and comfy. Whoever says you can’t be simple and fashionable? Remember, in dressing up, every detail matters. We don’t like to overdo things or be under dressed. Be mindful of the colors and the accessories. Also, be comfortable in what you wear. :-) Wear things that would make you happy. Know your body type and be mindful of the venue always.

I miss having you. I miss being me.

I haven’t had a “personal blog” for the longest time. This blog started as my outlet. Where I simply pour my heart out and complain and rant and shout and cry. And then I changed. I matured. I wanted something fun and I wanted to share the best of my life. And then I forgot that I am human.

For the past year, I’ve had a roller coaster of emotions. Buong buhay ko alam ko kung ano ang gusto ko. Kung ano ang makakapagpasaya sa akin. Madalas hindi nila maintindihan. Madalas, weird! Madalas, akala ng iba MALI. Pero wala akong pakielam. Kasi ako naman to eh. Ako to! At ang kaligayahan ko ay hindi nakabase sa iisipin ng iba. My friends are very vocal in letting me know how jealous they are of me. Of the way I view things. Dahil matapang kong hinaharap ang lahat. Nang walang takot at walang pakielam sa panghuhusga.

Masaya ako. Hindi perpekto ang buhay ko pero masaya ako. Ginagawa ko ang gusto ko at masaya ako. Nabubuhay ako sa ngayon ng hindi natatakot sa kinabukasan at hindi iniisip ang nakaraan. Ngayon lang ang mahalaga. Dahil ngayon lang ang hawak ko.

But for the past year, I have done things and things that hurt me and the people around me. Simply because I came to the point where I don’t know what could really make me happy. I wanted to be happy. I honestly do. Who wouldn’t want that right? But there are times when I am not because the person whose supposed to make me happy is driving me crazy.

Noon, pag mahal ko, ginagawa ko ang lahat. Binibigay ko ang lahat. Pero kapag hindi na ko masaya, kapag sumobra na, kapag sobra ng sakit, iniiwan ko na. I let go easily because I know I did everything. And that is enough. If it still won’t work, then I can no longer do anything about it.

And then again I matured. I changed. Now I still give my all but love myself at the same time. Hindi ko sinasabing mali. Hindi din ako magmamalinis at sasabihing wala akong ginagawang mali. Sa totoo, masama ako. Pero mahirap magmahal ng taong ayaw patalo. Dahil hindi din naman ako nagpapatalo.

Kagaguhan! Pero ang kagaguhang yon ang kailangan ko. Sa kagustuhan kong malaman ang gusto ko madami akong nagawang mali. Dahil ayaw kong magpakita ng kahinaan, nahihirapan akong mabuhay. Hindi ako to! Pag masakit, sumisigaw ako ng “aray!”. Pag masarap, sinasabi ko. Pag masaya ako, tumatawa ako. At kapag mahal ko, ipinagsisigawan ko. Pero hindi ko yun magawa ngayon.

Masakit na pero ngumingiti pa ko. Masaya ako pero hindi ko maipakita. Gustong gusto ko pa pero hindi ko masabi. At mahal na mahal ko pero hindi ako mapaniwalaan dahil hindi ko mapakita ng tama!

Parang nagka-clash! Parang may hindi tama. Madalas nakakapagod pero kung iisipin mo, dun ka masaya eh! Pero gusto mo din sumaya sa iba. Pero iba pa din pag andun sya. Iba pa din pag sya. Pag wala sya nakakamiss. Pag andyan, nakakainis na masaya na nakakabwiset. Gusto mong gawin ang gusto mo pero gusto mong umuwi sa kanya.

Magulo! I’ll take this opportunity to think. To ask for the impossible. To wish that both of us would be enlightened. That somehow, we’d eventually meet halfway, where both are happy.

We are too much different and we so much alike. We love each other too much and we love ourselves too much as well. Our views are very different and we are both complicated. But I am wishing deep in my heart, when all this has passed, we would eventually be happy again. Together. Forever. Till we grow old and gray.
